Nebraska Heart Institute
When the Nebraska Heart Institute recently built its own 92,000-square-foot Heart Hospital, it was important for everything in it to be in line with their patient-focused philosophy and up to par with their state-of-the-art technologies.
The building process was well underway, when the lead designer noticed that the design had not included any storage space. The team then turned to Midwest Storage Solutions for efficient and affordable storage solutions that could be integrated into their existing plans.
Through collaboration with Nebraska Heart Institute and Midwest Storage Solutions, the vision of creating innovative, space-saving storage solutions was realized. For example, the design team needed pullout racks for catheter storage, and Midwest not only designed a special pullout storage system but also customized the shelving to be fixed in the most optimal location in the procedure room. The added detail improved the user experience, while increasing efficiency in the operating room.

The International Quilt Study Center & Museum
The International Quilt Study Center & Museum is a 50,000 square-foot museum housing one of the largest collections of antique quilts on the University of Nebraska – Lincoln campus.
After receiving a large donation, the university was able to expand its museum and move the collection to a better location. At this time, the institution sought a partnership with Midwest Storage Solutions to develop an efficient storage system for its delicate quilt collection.
With such a fragile and valuable collection, Midwest Storage Solutions had to collaborate closely with the contractors and architects to ensure that all shelving units met the collection’s archival and preservation criteria. Midwest also had to ensure that its storage solution was secure and would allow quilts to be easily moved in and out as needed.

Bellevue Police Department
The Bellevue Police Department was in need of a new facility and a reconstruction of their headquarters. The police department collaborated with Midwest Storage Solutions to maximize their space and create an efficient system of processes.
The department was spread out between five buildings. In consultation with Midwest Storage Solutions, they decided to consolidate into one building in order to improve communication and efficiency. The Bellevue police department discussed the difficulties of shuttling between buildings to retrieve or deliver evidence, and how this caused inefficiency in their work.
Midwest Storage Solutions recognized the problem and sought to create a highly efficient, centralized building that would do the work of the 5 buildings currently in place. Space-saving solutions and innovative ideas were required to maximize the use of space without creating disorder.
